2. Listening Activity (collected)
  • Step 1: Listen to the following story: The Shack. Please DO NOT READ the conversation the first time you listen to the story.  If you want to, you can listen to the story two or three times. After you have listened to the story 2 or 3 times, you can read it. 
  • Step 2: Answer the questions below on a separate sheet of paper. Don't forget to write your name on the paper!
  • Questions:
    • 1. What did Shirley's parents buy when she was 7 or 8 years old? 
    • 2. Describe "The Shack." Where was it? What was it like? Did it sound like a good place to go? Why or why not? 
    • 3. What activities did Shirley and her family do at the Shack? 
    • 4. Did you ever go to a place similar to "The Shack" when you were young? If yes, how was it similar? How was it different? If no, would you like to go to a place like this for a summer vacation? Why or why not?

HW for Tuesday, May 29th


1. Syllabus Reading and Questions

  • Read the syllabus and answer the questions on the handout given to you in class. 

2. Childhood Place Response (collected)
  • Write about a place that you remember from your childhood. This should be a place that you have good memories of.  Describe the place. Where was it?  What was it like? Why did you like this place? 
  • Try to write 4-6 sentences describing the place. 
  • Write your response on a separate sheet of paper and make sure to write your name on your paper. 
  • I will collect your response in Tuesday's class.
